Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 June 2026
Your privacy and confidentiality matter enormously to me. This policy explains what personal information I collect through this website, how I use it, and the choices you have.
Who I am
Changes Counselling Support is run by Carole Howells, an independent Person Centred Counsellor based at Burton Woods, Spennymoor, Co. Durham. I am the data controller for personal information collected through this site.
What I collect
When you use the contact form on this site, I collect the name, email address, optional phone number and the message you choose to share with me. I do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies. A small “cookie consent” choice is stored locally in your browser so the banner doesn’t reappear.
How I use it
I use the details you submit only to respond to your enquiry and, with your agreement, to arrange counselling sessions. Your information is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing.
How long I keep it
Enquiries received through the website are kept while we’re in active conversation, then archived or deleted within 12 months. Counselling records are kept separately and securely in line with NCS guidance.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete personal information I hold about you, and to withdraw consent at any time. Please contact me at carole.howells@live.co.uk.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how I handle your data, you can raise a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
