How I can help
Anxiety counselling
Anxiety can feel like the volume's been turned up on everything - the racing thoughts, the worst-case scenarios, the tightness in your chest that won't quite ease. Counselling won't make life stop sending you difficult things, but it can give you somewhere to set them down for a while.
What we might explore together
Often anxiety isn't really about the thing your mind has fixed on - it's about something underneath that hasn't had room to be heard. In our sessions we go gently, following what feels important to you, rather than pushing for answers before they're ready.
Some people find it helps to look at when the anxiety first started, or at the patterns they've grown up around. Others want to focus on the here and now - getting through this week, this morning, this meeting. Both are completely valid.
There's no script you need to follow
You don't need to arrive with a tidy list of symptoms or a clear diagnosis. You can come and say "I just feel exhausted by it all" and that's enough to begin with.
Common questions
- How long does it usually take?
- It varies - some people feel a noticeable shift within a handful of sessions, others stay for longer because they value the space. There's no fixed contract; you decide what's helpful.
- Can counselling really help with panic attacks?
- It often can - not by making them disappear overnight, but by helping you understand them, soften the fear of them, and feel less alone with them.
